Two
vacancy announcements at Sand Creek Massacre NHS are currently open.

These are seasonal temporary park guide positions, Not to Exceed 1040
hours. Positions are expected to run April – October. The persons
selected may be required to provide as many as four ranger-led programs
per day. They will also assist with a variety of interpretive and
educational services, as well as event planning.
As our nation’s newest park, the site helps to interpret, memorialize
and protect the site of the 1864 Sand Creek massacre. The event and its
aftermath are among our nation’s most profound and controversial
histories. For anyone knowledgeable and passionate about the American
west – its drama, history, and diverse cultures – this job should offer
many unique, challenging, and exciting opportunities.
The park is located in Kiowa County, near the community of Eads.
Housing, medical, shopping, and recreational opportunities are available
throughout the local and regional areas.
